Super Seed Crackers

Call us birds, but we love to incorporate seeds into our diet! They have a tonne of health benefits, and are a natural source of energy.

Some of the health benefits of seeds:
Sunflower Seeds - promote healthy digestion and increase fiber intake. Full of healthy fats, vitamin-E, selenium & copper to support a healthy heart.
Sesame Seeds - high in calcium, magnesium, zinc, fiber, iron, B1 and phosphorus. Possessing important cholesterol-fighting fibers known, studies show that these seeds can lower blood pressure, as well as protect the liver from damage. 

Pumpkin Seeds - extremely high in anti-oxidants that increase immunity. High in omega-3 fatty acids & zinc to support skeletal health 

Flaxseed - high in fiber, aiding in digestion. High in omega-3 fatty acids to support a healthy heart

 

 

These super seed crackers are extremely delicious and versatile.

They only contain a handful of ingredients, but can be tricked out with spices (think paprika or cumin) to suit your taste buds.

Delicious on their own, but we like to pair them with smokey eggplant dip or hummus.

 

You'll Need:

250 grams mixed seeds (sunflower, pumpkin, flax, sesame)

3 tablespoons coconut flour

4 tablespoons psyllium husks

pinch salt

pinch fennel powder

100 ml oil

250 ml boiling water

Baking Paper

 

Method:

Preheat oven to 150 degrees celcius. Line a tray with baking paper.


Mix together dry ingredients. Pour in water and oil & mix well until it forms a dough.

 

Spoon dough onto baking tray, then place a second layer of baking paper on top and roll out the dough with a rolling pin (or bottle). The thinner you make it, the crispier it will be.

 

Remove top layer of baking paper, sprinkle with salt & pepper and bake in oven for 60 minutes.


Remove from over and allow to cool before breaking it apart into crackers.
